Description
The Executive Coordinator & Policy Assistant provides executive level support to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The main function of the role will be to provide progressive and professional administrative leadership to ensure excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. The role provides strategic support to the CAO and assists in creating a supportive and efficient team environment. This position performs the role of Communications Coordinator for the Municipality. The position will require proficiency in research and policy writing and will draft and propose policy for the municipality.
The successful candidate should possess:
Minimum 3 years of progressive responsibility and diversified local government experience including executive administration, project coordination/project management skills.
Undergraduate degree in Public Administration (preferred), Public Policy or a three-year college diploma in business, project management, or executive office administration. The desired candidate will have a strong familiarity with the public sector.
Advanced computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of and proficient skills in varying computer applications including: website maintenance (iCreate), Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, Municipal software packages including Keystone and GIS.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement corporate communication strategies reflecting the needs of users.
Solid business writing, design and publication skills.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand legislation, knowledge of the Municipal Act, familiarity with e-Laws.
Assertive, confident, thrives under pressure with strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work outside normal business hours, as required
Valid G driver’s license
The salary range for this position is $32.33 – $39.69 per hour based upon a 35-hour work week. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes a comprehensive benefits and pension plan.
