Instructors – Early Childhood Care and Education Program (Terrace)

Job description and duties

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace Campus, invites applications for two regular continuing 50% Instructors in the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) program. Salary will be in accordance with the CUPE Instructional Scale.

Duties: The instructors are responsible for contributing to the academic success of students in the ECCE program. This includes course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction.

The ECCE program is delivered in a multi-modal distance format therefore teaching will be required via videoconference, teleconference or online, in weekend seminars or in practical fieldwork based on the needs of the program.

Qualifications

A minimum of a Master’s degree in the field of Early Childhood Education or a related field. Early learning experience and teaching experience at the post-secondary level in the area of early learning with a demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor learners of all ages is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required skills include:
Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills

Ability to motivate and mentor learners of all ages

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Experience teaching with distributed learning formats as well as knowledge with relevant technologies (i.e.: office 365, Brightspace, video/web conferencing, learning management systems, and online resources)

Enthusiasm for the characteristics of our strategic plan (adventurous, transformative, and integrity) and ability to apply them to teaching
