Summary:
This position serves as SBA’s most senior representative in Canada and is responsible for the operation and development of SBA’s business in Canada. This position leads and manages the SBA team in Canada and is accountable for the P&L of SBA’s Canada business. This position also advises SBA senior management on business strategy and industry activities in Canada. This position is located in Ontario, Canada, and reports to the Senior Vice President of International Operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages, leads, and is accountable for all internal and customer-facing SBA business and operations activities in Canada and all SBA team members and contractors employed in such activities. These duties include managing all direct and indirect functional operations including customer relationship management, site marketing, leasing, business development, site acquisition, tower permitting and construction, leasing, site operations and maintenance, mergers & acquisitions, accounting, human resources and legal;
Maintains close relationships with tenant key stakeholders at incumbent and new entrant wireless carriers to market and support SBA’s current portfolio of towers, rooftops, strategic properties and any other new service offerings in Canada;
Works with subordinate business development and site marketing managers to canvass existing tenants, prospective tenants, ground landowners, rooftop owners and other infrastructure and property owners to identify new business opportunities;
Successfully develops business opportunities for the construction of new telecommunications towers, the management of new strategic real estate properties and the acquisition of other owners’ existing telecommunications towers in Canada;
Collaborates with the US-based M&A team to identify, analyze, contract and close on additional existing towers and rooftops in Canada;
Collaborates with US-based land buy out team to facilitate the buyout, buy-down and rent renegotiation of leased properties;
Collaborates with the US-based Engineering. Construction Management and Safety teams to ensure all tower build and modification activities comply with SBA policies, practices and standards as well as committed timelines, cost and quality;
Collaborates with the US-based Leasing and Site Management teams to ensure all leasing, collocation tower operations are carried out per SBA policies, practices, standards and directives;
Collaborates with the US-based International Operations team to ensure all tower operations, repair, maintenance and documentation are carried out per SBA policies, practices, standards and directives.
Stays abreast of and participates in Canadian internet, communications and technology industry and regulatory bodies on issues related to SBA’s business in Canada;
Implements and executes processes and procedures across all SBA business lines in Canada to maximize the experience, benefit and value of the US-based back office, while still maintaining a local feel and presence in Canada;
Accountable for and manages the P&L for SBA’s business in Canada and engages with appropriate US-based SBA groups to ensure compliance with key financial processes and procedures; and
Responsible for other duties as assigned by the executive leadership team of SBA.

Education and/or Experience:
4-year college degree in relevant field required, MBA a plus
5-10 years of experience in the wireless business, preferably on the infrastructure side
Must demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability to work with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various Internet applications.
Language Skills:
Bilingual (Canadian French/English) a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and co-workers in both Canada and United States and with our Corporate Headquarters.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area and volume.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid country Driver’s License.
