Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) is looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager

Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to assist the organization in reaching its outreach and communications goals and objectives on a short-term project and to support and elevate our brand profile, engage our audiences, and contribute to the growth of the organization and its impact across the province.

Contract:     Full-time (37.5 hours per week), one-year contract with the potential for renewal.

Salary:         $48,000 to $57,000

Location:     Mississauga, ON

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the organization’s strategic plan: Develop and implement other aspects of the organization’s marketing and communication plans in collaboration with the leadership team;
  • Managing all aspects of a promotional campaign in collaboration with a communications/advertising agency;
  • Digital engagement: Create and manage a social media and website presence and leverage online opportunities to provide greater engagement for our work;
  • Writing & editing: Write copy or short articles on specific initiatives. Assist in the preparation and editing of quarterly newsletters, annual reports, marketing initiatives, web content, public announcements, and media releases;
  • Marketing: Update and maintain marketing materials to ensure continuity of the brand voice. Prepare sponsorship and event marketing materials;
  • Media relations: Identify, build and manage relationships with print, radio, television, online reporters, and bloggers. Respond to media inquiries as required;
  • Presentations: Deliver presentations to the target audience. Promote and highlight the objectives and outcomes of the short-term project;
  • Finance management:  Manage expenditures of the project budget;
  • Analytics: Gather and assess social media analytics;
  • Reporting: Prepare a final report on the promotional campaign based on established deliverables and measures of success.

EDUCATION / PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Two years (minimum) experience as a marketing and/or communications professional;
  • A degree from a reputable education institution with a focus in communications, marketing, public relations, project management, or another relevant discipline;
  • Experience working in the social service or charitable sector is an asset;
  • Bilingualism is an asset (French, English);
  • Knowledge of the education system in Ontario is an asset.

  • Familiar with virtual communication platforms
  • Flexibility with work schedule. Some evening work may be required for special events and committee meetings
