The Ministry of Social Services is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and innovative Project Manager for a one-year term with the Strategic Management Branch to support project management and improvement initiatives.
Typical projects include policy and program design and changes, development of legislation, and process development and improvements. You will lead project teams, and provide guidance, direction and support to staff on project activities. Primary position accountabilities include managing the scope, deliverables, and resources of projects in partnership with executives, consultants, front-line workers, and external stakeholders.
As our candidate of choice, you will have the ability to facilitate discussions, lead cross-team collaboration, and manage project issues. Building and managing relationships with staff, team members, vendors, and clients is critical for success. You are able to adapt your approach and expectations by identifying and considering the needs of others while achieving the project objectives.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a degree in Public Administration, Commerce, or other social science discipline, and experience managing projects. Familiarity with government decision-making processes and cabinet documents will be a strong asset in this position.
