Description
This position works for the Thrift Store Manager. You must be able to provide support for the day-to-day operations of our Ellis Street Location while communicating to the Manager with ideas, and issues as they arise. Supervision and direction of employees are required.
HOURS:
- 40 hours per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In conjunction with the manager direct day to day operations of the Ellis Street Thrift Store.
- Monitor performance, Health and Safety, and employees. Provide feedback to the Manager.
- Ensure attractiveness through Tidy Maintenance and merchandising of salesfloor, and window displays.
- Monitor loss prevention, and report to a manager.
- Oversee, and participate in building maintenance, such as cleaning, coordinating, and communicating maintenance issues to the maintenance in charge.
- Will have opening and closing duties as they relate to sales and cash balancing.
- Sorting and pricing of merchandise as required.
- Ensure safe work practices when using all equipment.
- Monitor need forms and equipment to be in stock. Inform the manager.
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications:
- Grade 12 education.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of successful related experience, including retail sales and supervision.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Related Courses an asset.
- Prior successful experience will be considered.
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Good Organizational skills. Multitasker, good knowledge of merchandising, customer service, and sales targets.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
- The job requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, bending, and lifting. You would be required to stand, bend, and lift to 50 pounds.
